Show “Food Drive” video (it’s 30 seconds) as the bell rings.

Coming to you LIVE from the library, it’s MHTV!

Today is Friday, Nov. 13.

Mission Hill is holding its annual food drive. The food drive gives you a chance to participate in fighting hunger. The donations will go to Second Harvest food bank. Donations are important because 1 in 4 children in our community are going to bed hungry every night. This is a great way for the Mission Hill community to get involved and to help others!

Some suggested food items are soups, stews, chili, beans, pasta, canned meat, cereal, etc. Make sure it's nutritious and non-perishable, please! Second Harvest also accepts checks and money donations. Students can drop off donations in their 6th period class. Small donations make a big difference! Thank you!

Did you know that Mission Hill has an online auction happening and there are great things to bid on and some really good deals! Is a new NHS skateboard or Electra bike on your wishlist this year?

Your parents can bid on these items and more online.  There are also great things donated by some Mission Hill teachers & staff to bid on like disc golf, climbing, sewing, cooking and more! The link is on the Mission Hill website or you can check out the auction display outside the office to see more items and grab a reminder with the auction web address.  Ask your parents to check it out!

According to Weather.com there is a 95% chance of rain today at noon, so please think about where you will be if today is a rainy day brunc or lunch.  Remember, once hall close you have to stay in the auditorium, library, or classroom.  Roaming the halls is not an option.

Are you looking for some extra Halloween fun? Santa Cruz High School is turning into a Haunted House on Friday, October 30th from 7:30-9pm. This event is open to the public and costs five dollars.

This is a reminder that should you decide to wear your costume on Friday, October 30th , your costume needs to follow the Mission Hill dress code, which includes: no masks, no spaghetti straps, no see-through clothing, undergarments are covered, no mid-drifts, no short shorts, skirts, dresses, and no fake (or real) weapons.

In addition, should you have a hat as part of your costume, please make sure you take these off during class.

We also want to make sure that costumes are respectful of others cultures, heritages, race, and ethnicity and that costumes are not distracting or interfering with the learning of others. If you have a question regarding your costume, please ask Ms McElwee or Ms. Hodges when you see them in the hallways or during brunch or lunch. You may also send them a School Loop message.

Would you like your artwork on the cover of the 2015-2016 yearbook? Tomorrow is the last day to submit your best original artwork! Flyers with details and rules are in the office or on the Mission Hill website.

This is school wide writing week, and today’s writing quote is: Words — so innocent and powerless as they are, as standing in a dictionary, how potent for good and evil they become in the hands of one who knows how to combine them. ~Nathaniel Hawthorne
