Announcements:

It’s time to vote on your Favorite CYRM book.  I sent a loopmail to all the Young Adult readers of Cinder, Miss Peregrine, and Eleanor and Park.  Please check your loopmail asap!  If you read all three of the middle school books: Doll Bone, Ghost Hawk, and Dog Tag Summer, please come see Ms. Dyer or email her as soon as possible.

Claim your lost items! Check the lost and found for pants, sweaters, jackets, shoes, etc. this week. Any items remaining after Friday will be donated. Make your mother happy!

Fashion Teens1. Tickets will be on sale after school on Friday, April 1 in front of Mission Hill at a special event table starting at 12:45 PM (Friday is a minimum day.)  Checks can be made out to Mission Hill Middle School PTA with Fashion Teens in the memo line.  See below for ticket prices.

JAMBA Juice will also be on sale on Friday after school for $5 each and proceeds will help fund great things at Mission Hill from dances to intramurals to enrichment activities.  Come enjoy a Jamba and celebrate Spring Break!


Attention 8th graders who had Ms. Vann or Ms. McIntyre for Core last year: Tomorrow is the last day to pick up your 7th grade portfolio from Ms. McIntyre in Room 26. Thank you!

Coming to you LIVE from the library, it’s MHTV! Good morning, Mission Hill! Today is Monday, March 14, an odd period day.  

Announcements:

March 17 is California Thursday.  This means that all the food for CA students will California grown and freshly prepared.  This includes about 3000 schools and 1.5 million students.  Locally grown food in schools means healthier food, more money staying in our communities, and less packaging and transportation which makes it better for the environment.  Get ready for the free give-aways and healthy food on Thursday.

Now is the time to return all your library books before next week’s dance and before your next book check out. Drop by the library if you have any questions.

Calling all Mavericks! We know you've got talent, so come share it with the Maverick family at our annual talent show! The Try-outs for the talent show are Today, March 14th from 3-4:30 in the auditorium.  Please turn in your applications to Alejandra in the front office.

8th grade presidential stand and deliver starts Monday and ends Friday next week.  All staff members will receive a list of students and instructions in their boxes.  8th graders will stand and tell you five facts about their presidents.

If you checked out “If you’re reading this, it’s too late” or “Mistborn” from the public library, please up to the library to claim them.

Golf Meeting for Students Interested in Joining the Golf Team Meeting will take place After School Tues 3/15 3pm Outside Bleachers near Gym.

March 11 for our 2nd Annual Light Up the Night bike ride! Tawn says they will a thousands $$ of bike lights to giveaway.  Meet at the MAH from 5pm - 7pm for crafts, fun & live music, and ride from there at 7pm.

Sorry, the library is closed for lunch today due to the library being left a mess. Please remember that it is your responsibility to wipe up spills, clean up crumbs and garbage, and throw your trash away. Eating is only permitted when seated at the far tables.

Announcements:

Don’t forget to buy your 2016 Mission Hill Yearbook.  You can find the link to purchase a yearbook on the Mission Hill website or on school loop.

Dear Library Regulars, one of our MH photographers, Becky Saltikov, will be here at lunch on Monday, 2/29, to take professional photos of you which will be made into posters for the library like the READ posters we have on the walls.  On Monday, consider wearing something stylish and/or fancy and bring your favorite book for taking your pose!

Santa Cruz High School theater department would like to invite you to Disney’s High School Musical On Stage! There are shows on February 26th and 27th. Tickets are $10 and student tickets can be purchased at the door for $8 with your Mission Hill ID.

Pre-ordered Santa Cruz Warrior tickets for Friday’s game are now available for pick-up in the office.

The last semifinal basketball game in the lunch time tournament is today.  It is Mr. Dilles’ team against Ms. Maramonte’s team.  The winner of today’s game will meet Mr. Gavin’s team in the championship game Friday night at the Warriors game during half time.  

Soccer season is upon us!  Join your maverick classmates for exciting soccer action when the Quakes take on the Kansas City Sporting Sunday, April 24th at Avaya Stadium.   $5 of each ticket sold will benefit Mission Hill PTA.

To purchase tickets, submit completed order forms and payment to the school office.  Order forms are available online through the MHMS website or hard copies are available in the front office.  Deadline for purchase is March 28th.

8th Grade Parent and Student Information Night tonight from 6:30 – 8:30 PM, Santa Cruz High Auditorium.  This is an informative night for both parents and students so all should attend.

Announcements:

Get yourself to homework club to have a better semester!  Homework Club is underway at MH to help you get your work done:  Math in Ms. Jenning’s room Tues and Thursday 3-4, Science on Thursday with Ms. Corbin 3-4, and Writing in the Library with Ms. Dyer in the library.  

Teachers, please make a basketball team with 3 students for a lunch time tournament.  Students respectfully ask your teachers to be a team with you.  Teams will play a lunch time tournament, and the championship game will be at the Santa Cruz Warriors arena during half time on February 26.  Sign up on Mr. Dilles’ door by Friday.

Celebrate being a super student this Friday at the Student of the Grading Period Ceremony after school 2:30-3pm.  

We added two more classes to Arts Academy: Electronics and Piano.  Please return your forms no later than Feb. 10.
